#SheMatters Shop

Our very first charity shop has opened in Tunbridge Wells, selling good quality women & girls’ clothing and accessories, books, games and local handicrafts - because #SheMatters!

Because every woman deserves to be celebrated, we are supporting women in prison by empowering them with tools to unlock their potential and to build a better future.

By providing opportunities to engage with the general public the #SheMatters shop will raise awareness of the work of Imago Dei Prison Ministry and their support for women in prison.

Creating work experience opportunities for women leaving prison, we want to reduce the stigma of employing someone who has been part of the Criminal Justice System, as well as give opportunities for community involvement.

Here is a recent interview aired on West Kent Radio with our #SheMatters Shop Manager.

Volunteering in our #SheMatters store is a brilliant way to get involved and show your support for the work of Imago Dei and can make a real difference to the lives of the women that we work with.

You will have the opportunity to work both with women who are coming out of the Criminal Justice System and with those in the community who come into the shop, by being the face of #SheMatters CIC.

By joining our team, you will be welcomed into an inclusive and caring environment, where we seek to do all we do to the best of our ability. You will foster an environment where you can thrive in all your positive attributes with the ability to grow self-confidence, self-esteem, improve your social and people skills, working responsibly as part of a team and bringing your best self to the table.

Our shop is located in Tunbridge Wells town centre, with very good transport links. You will, however, need to make sure you can travel to and from the shop.

You will participate in a variety of roles when volunteering at the shop. These include: sorting stock, pricing stock, shop display, customer service, and creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

You will receive full induction and training.

Our Shop depends on donations from people like you. Do you have any pre-loved women & girls’ clothing which are still in good condition and may be the gem someone is looking for?

The heart of #SheMatters is conveying the worth of every single woman. This will be reflected in the products we will sell in our shop.

Our store will be stocking a variety of items which may appeal to women and girls:

Womens’ clothing - Girls’ clothing - Accessories: Jewellery/Shoes/Bags/Hats - Books - Games/Toys - Handicrafts

If you are an independent craftsman, and would like to donate some of your handiworks to #SheMatters, we would in turn love to be able to showcase your work. Please get in touch through shop@shematters.uk or 01892 487761, as we would love to hear from you!

Could you be a #SheMatters ambassador? We are looking for individuals who can be collection points within their local communities/area to receive contributions on our behalf.

As a #SheMatters COLLECTION HUB, you will liaise with Imago Dei Prison Ministry to organise collection and delivery of donations received from your local community. You will be first point of call for those in your vicinity who are wanting to support the #SheMatters shop.

We are looking for individuals and businesses who can take responsibility to receive donations for us. If you are interested in becoming a #SheMatters COLLECTION HUB, please complete the form below:
