SESSION TOPIC: ‘Resettlement’

Sophia Benedict is Senior Services Manager at Advance, a charity with a mission of saving and changing lives by working with women who experience domestic abuse to be safe and take control of their lives, and women who have committed crime or are at risk of offending to break the cycle.

Sophia supports women affected by the criminal justice system in London and across Kent, Hampshire, Thames Valley, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Prior to working at Advance, Sophia has worked with London based charities delivering specialist services for women in the criminal justice system. She holds an MA in Gender and Law from SOAS, University of London, and was a Griffins Society Research Fellow from 2018-2020 researching the barriers to resettlement for foreign national women.
